The car connoisseurs and spectators warmly welcomed the Peugeot 106 as a city car designed and developed by French automaker Peugeot. The vehicle made its public debut in 1991 and last until 2003.
As entry-level super-mini, the vehicle successfully gained high ranking for longest-running production history and for a number of tech revolutions. Modern styling, great handling, comfy ride, and low running cost are notable characteristics of this ideal city car.
The entry-level Peugeot 106 was a three-door hatchback and the five-door hatchback configuration joined the range in 1992. In 1994, the Rallye model joined the range and specifically designed to attract sporting drivers. Features like electric windows, power assisted steering, sunroof and antilock brakes as standard. The vehicle in its phase 2 looked extremely reminiscent to the Citroen SAXON. XN, XL, XR, XT, XS, and GTi are few trim choices. This time the facelifted version was well equipped and feature-rich workhorse.
The list of equipment and number of features vary depending on the trim choices. But one thing common in all is that Peugeot is a feature rich and well-equipped contender. All around independent suspension with MacPherson struts .high quality material and sophisticated interior is visible in low-end models. 1.1-liter and 1.0-liter cars are offering the four-speed manual gearbox. The five-speed manual with an automatic box is standard on the other models. Electric windows, central locking, manual pop-up sunroof, rear wash wipers, and radio-cassette or Radio-CD are standard on different models. Slightly modified versions in phase 2 are high on the features list. For example, GTi features leather upholstery, 14-inch raptor alloy wheels, a body kit, and disc brakes all around.
The electric version known as 106 Electrique joined the Peugeot in 1995. The vehicle gained wide acceptance among masses for the quality of material, intuitively designed layout and electric power train.
