Nissan Versa - A Reliable Family Car

Nissan Versa is a compact car that is produced by Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan in North America. In America, the identical Versa model is much more successful. Now Nissan has presented a revised version of the car with the aim is to attract buyers with improved engines, more space and a favorable price. The basis is the new, lightweight V-platform, which is also to be used in other models.


Interior - Plenty of Space

Despite its compact dimensions Versa is a family car. Depending on the equipment variant, the backrest can be folded over asymmetrically. The trunk of the five-seater is pretty wide. Nissan wants to make the journey for the rear passengers comfortable by providing a great leg-freedom - it is as generously proportioned as in vehicles of the upper middle class.


The overall interior of the Nissan Versa is pretty spacious and comfortable for the back seat passengers as well as front seat.


Engine Specifications

The drive is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 110 hp and 145 Nm of torque. The revised engine operates with two injection nozzles per cylinder, which, however, still inject into the intake manifold and not directly into the combustion chamber.


With the two injection nozzles, the fuel is to be atomized more finely, thus making the combustion more efficient. The model is lighter than the predecessor and is equipped with a variable valve control. By default, a manual five-speed gearbox is coupled to the engine.


For an extra charge, there is also an infinitely variable automatic transmission (CVT), which reduces friction, weight and size compared to the old version.


Fuel Consumption

The consumption is given by Nissan for the version with manual gearbox with 7.8 l / 100 km. With the CVT transmission it should be 7.1 l / 100 km.


Standard Equipment

The standard equipment range of the car is quite broad with an array of latest technology features to offer in every line of Versa. The equipment lines S, SV and SL are offered in the market. Six airbags, servo steering, ABS, traction control, ESP, electronic braking force distribution and a brake assist are part of the standard equipment.


The interior is optionally dark gray or sandstone. Standard are a CD radio, air conditioning and various child safety systems. SV models are also equipped with cruise control, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors and chrome accents on the radiator grille.
