Mazda CX 5 - The Unique SUV

Earlier Mazda failed to develop models which are more than the big sport utility vehicle (SUV) tailored to the European market. Specifically, this meant: Precisely in the booming compact SUV segment Mazda could offer no model. This gap closed, the Japanese in 2012, the CX-5, the flagship of Mazda in the SUV class was in Europe.

But when the first cars in 2012 rolled in Europe on the road was clear to see that Mazda is wanted to set up differently in the SUV market with the Mazda CX 5 During the previous CX-7 is oriented in its dimensions and in terms of body design to the built primarily for the US market CX-9, should the CX-5 scored an own acting performance. So it was not surprising that the CX-5, especially in the front view shown design characteristics that Mazda had taken as a design basis already in the saloons and estate cars of its 3 or 6 series. A large radiator opening in trapezoidal shape, long narrow headlights and plate folds on the flanks and the sharply sloping roofline should visually illustrate the sporty ambitions of the CX-5.

 

In more conventional designed rear of the compact SUV from Mazda especially the wide roof spoiler noticed. With the facelift of 2015 the Mazda CX-5 cars were modified radiator grille with chrome rail and broad cross braces and a new front bumper and conspicuous off-road elements such as plastic lined wheel wells. The New program came in 2015 in addition with a stronger petrol engine with 2.5 liter displacement and 141 kW (192 hp).
