The Toyota Motor Corporation has been in market since 1937 producing the best among rest vehicle. It has invested a lot in research and development to make sure that quality and customer preference is not compromised. It belongs to one of the largest conglomerate in the world Toyota Group, so money is never an issue for the company.
Yet the investment that pays off is the target for this company like any other business. So when the Toyota Corolla got ground breaking popularity in 1967, company started to cash the opportunity. The year 1967 was the lucky one; it had humongous sales with the popularity that broke records of Volkswagen Beetle.
In the ninth generation of Corolla, the Toyota Allex was introduced. It was a five door hatchback that had space for people and luggage. The badge engineered version was also available there in market as Toyota Runx. Both the vehicles were based on Corolla E120 platform, and launched in 2001.
Initially the vehicle was available exclusively in Toyota dealership stores of Japan; though later it was available all over the globe. Many believed that Toyota Runx was introduced first in Japan, later followed by Toyota Allex for global sales. But whatever the case may be both are twin brothers.
It brings in the features that were the reason of success of Corolla, whether it is easy handling specs or the overall homely layout. The Power Window, Power Steering, Alloy Wheels, Roof Rail, Rear Spoiler, Headlights and taillights are all synchronized in both vehicles.
The strategy worked out and generated more profit for Toyota Corolla family. Hence the other models of Toyota aside from its competitor brands are using it. We see a number of successful models being rebadged even by competitive brands aside from the same company cashing its star vehicle.
