The X6 combines BMW presence of a SUV with the sportiness of a coupe. Since 2008, the sport utility coupe is a member of the X family.

The strong gasoline engine shows off hair-raising 408 kW (555 hp), the diesel engine transmits 280 kW (381 hp) to the transmission, also a gasoline-hybrid with 300 kW + 57 kW in the BMW program. For numerous models, BMW offers the xDrive option in X6 this feature is standard, thus underlining the mixture of all-terrain SUV and a sporty coupe. How does xDrive? The multi-plate clutch is able to variably distribute the drive power within a few milliseconds between the front and rear axle - continuously and permanently. The distribution is done automatically and adapted to the current driving situation.
To recognize the situation, BMW uses the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and the Electronic Stability Program (ESP). The dynamic adjustment of the driving torque detects an oversteer or understeer early on and thus ensures maximum safety in curves. The Dynamic Performance Control (DPC) distributes torque adaptively on the rear axle and provides more stability, steering precision and agility.
Against excessive fuel consumption BMW uses EfficientDynamics measures like reduced rolling resistance tires, Brake Energy Regeneration and Air vent control. The various diesel models in the Sports Activity Coupé: xDrive30d with 173 kW (235 hp) in used cars from May 2008 to April 2010 with xDrive30d 180 kW (245 hp) in New and used cars since April 2010, xDrive35d with 210 kW (286 hp) in used cars from January 2008 to April 2010.
The fuel consumption is relatively low at 8.3 liters per 100 kilometers. The petrol engines of the BMW Sports Activity Coupé is xDrive35i with 225 kW (306 hp) and it’s constructed from January 2008 to March 2010, introduced the successor of April 2010, xDrive50i with 300 kW (408 hp), as used cars since May 2008. ActiveHybrid X6 with a combined 357 kW (485 hp) pure the 4.4-liter biturbo V8 - 5.4 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h are possible with the 50i - madness for such a heavy vehicle. The fuel consumption of the car is extremely effective.
