No, there is no registration or membership fee.

Q3. Is there any warranty service available?

No warranty service.

Q4. How can I know a car's condition?

Used cars are offered 'as is' and there may be some scratches or dents. SBT checks the mechanical condition before shipping the vehicle, but cannot guarantee the condition 100% as some issues may arise during transport. To minimize risks, SBT recommends a third-party car inspection (EAA or Javice) and offers a Global Protection Program. SBT’s Insurance

Q5. How long does it take to ship a car from Japan to Dar Es Salaam?

It takes about five to seven weeks after payment.

Q6. What are FOB, C&F, and CIF?

FOB: Free On Board, which means the price does not include shipping costs.
C&F: Cost and Freight, which includes the shipping cost.
CIF: Cost, Insurance, and Freight, which includes shipping insurance and cost.

Q7. What are SBT's payment terms? Is partial payment or credit contract available?

SBT deals in C&F & CIF terms. Yes, we do offer partial payment terms like 70%, 50%, 30% payment terms based on customer credibility.

Q8. Do car prices include duty & VAT? What charge do I need to pay to drive the vehicle?

No, the prices are exclusive of Duty & VAT (You need to pay at ZIMRA). Additional charges may include clearing & delivery service if you use an agent, and local vehicle registration.

Yes, delivery service is available up to Zimbabwe cities. You do not need to collect your car at Dar-Es-Salaam or Durban. Please consult with our representatives for more details.

You need:
Export Certificate (in both Japanese & English)
Bill of Landing (Original 1st & 2nd)
Invoice from SBT (SBT will send the documents to your requested address approximately 15 days after shipping)

Q12. Where do I collect my car?

You can collect your car at the selected port (Dar-Es-Salaam or Durban). Delivery and clearing service is available to your doorstep or city. City Delivery

Q13. Where do I need to send payment?

All payments must be sent to SBT's bank account in Japan. Payments should be made to SBT Co. Ltd. beneficiaries in Japan. PayPal is also accepted! Contact your sales representative for more details.

Q14. How do I send payment to SBT?

You can use multiple payment types for making payments (Bank Transfer, Paypal, Zanaco Bank Zambia, Visa Card, NMB Bank Tanzania, FNB/First National Bank Limited Zambia).

Import Scheme

Important Regulation

Vehicle Age Limit / Ten (10) year

Used motor vehicles that are ten (10) years or older from the date of manufacture at the time of importation require an Import License issued by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. For further details, please contact ZIMRA.
In accordance with Zimbabwe’s updated import regulations, consignees must provide proof of pre-clearance and duty payment before the clearing agent can initiate vehicle delivery from Durban to Zimbabwe. Please note: Vehicles cannot be dispatched without this documentation.

Trucks ＆ Buses

Bus and trucks ABOVE 5000 kgs gross weight (NO RESTRICTION)
Bus and trucks BELOW 5000 kgs gross weight (SHOULD BE 10 YEARS OLD)

Inspection Requirement

Effective 1st June 2022, all used vehicles imported into Zimbabwe must be accompanied by an EAA Certificate of Conformity (COC) to comply with border import regulations. Exceptions apply only if shipping documents clearly indicate that the vehicle was shipped prior to the inspection enforcement date of 1st June 2022.
