The Subaru Tribeca is categorized as a mid-size crossover SUV. It was first released in 2005 by the Subaru under the label as Subaru B9 Tribeca. The name of the car is inspired by the "Tribeca" from the TriBeCa zone of New York City. It was built on the Subaru Legacy platform and was offered in five- and seven-seats. Its design was dominated by the B9X concept car.
The Tribecas original design was refused at launch and consequently revised in 2007, with the model name revised to Tribeca as well. It was not available for sale locally in Japan. It was released as 2006 year model car in 2005 in the North American market and was released in Australia towards the end of the 2006 and was finally introduced in 2007 in Europe. Apart from these regions, it is also offered in Argentina, Chile, China and some other parts of the Southeast Asia. The 2014 Subaru Tribeca is an easy to park car for a growing family. It has very little similarity with the Subaru outback with seating capacity for up to seven passengers.
It has been the safest picks from the category of crossovers. It received the top ranking for its safety from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The 2014 Tribeca has power driver and passenger seats, 18-inch wheels, fog lights and heated front seats as standard features. As entertainment features a moonroof, rear climate control, full leather upholstery and roof rails along with the stereo with the Bluetooth hands-free connectivity.
When it was first launched, it had a very gaudy design and therefore it gave a very strange appearance. Latter in 2008 it came with a new style and design. The 2014 Tribeca is of the same exterior dimensions as the Subaru Outback. Its front styling has compromised its visibility to a great extent. The interior is brimming with the overuse of the matte-metallic plastic and also it has taken too much space with its bulging contours. But the overall design gives a feel of elegance with lights suiting to the surroundings. The front and second row seats are very remarkable with comfortable and accommodating front seats. The second-row seats too are nicely shaped and comfortable enough for the adults.
But the third row passengers will find it not very roomy and a bit cramped row. The Tribeca is considered as a good ride with a high quality ride. It is not even noisy but the rear seat passengers hear a bit of road noise sitting in the back.
Standard safety features include six airbags, anti-lock brakes and other safety technologies. Due to limited outward vision, a rearview camera system is suggested. Outward vision can be challenging, especially for short drivers, so we recommend the available rearview camera system. For the navigation system and reverse camera along with other features such as satellite radio and ten speakers and a sound system the customers have to pay extra amount.
