The EuroCargo is a truck of the Italian commercial vehicle manufacturer Iveco. With 6.5 to 26 tonnes, it covers both light and also medium-weight tonnages and appeared in 1992 as a successor to three models from previous Iveco co-operation.
EuroCarog as Off-Road
The EuroCargo is based on the air-cooled trucks of the MK series from Iveco-Magirus technically also on the Ford Cargo of Iveco-Ford as well as the X series of Iveco-Fiat. It also closely resembles the Axor and Atego models from Mercedes - Benz.
In addition, the truck model is used as an off-road vehicle with all-wheel drive and at the Technical Relief Agency (THW) for disaster relief. Since 2008 the Iveco EuroCargo is on the market, it is in the now third generation.
A Huge Range to Choose From
In contrast to the air-cooled predecessor models, the Iveco EuroCargo exclusively uses water-cooled common-rail units. Buyers can now choose from a total of seven different variants of the Iveco latest engine generation since 2000.
Engine Specifications
The four-cylinder engines have a displacement of 3.9 liters and deliver a power output between 96 kW (130 hp) and 125 kW (170 hp). The six-cylinder engines all have a cubic capacity of 5.9 liters, delivering power between 132 kW (180 hp) and 220 kW (299 hp).
By means of selective catalytic reduction (SCR), the Iveco EuroCargo has since 2006 been able to accept the Euro 4 or Euro 5 standard without sacrificing performance or consumption.
Technological Advantage
A great advantage of the Iveco EuroCargo is its very low weight due to the use of composites on large parts of the cab. Thus, the EuroCargo allows slightly higher payloads, which gives the model quite a few advantages over competition models.
Changing in Models
The Iveco Eurocargo 2008 models appear in a whole new light. Both the interior and the exterior design have been modernized to maintain the market leader status in the distribution class with this new generation. Even among the Iveco trucks, the Eurocargo now stands out. The front of the Iveco Eurocargo looks very sturdy with triangles, optically strong impact bumpers and a new, improved bumper.
Interior
Inside, the Italian company added surprising elements. The steering wheel with a diameter of only 47 cm seduces the idea of ??a heavy truck, but a new Eurocargo still belongs to the light to medium range. A newly designed valve panel with high-quality plastic clarifies the difference to the previous series.
