Honda Civic in its fifth and sixth generation was named as Civic Ferio and was sold in North America, Japan and Europe. This generation remained popular with tuner and racers, as the sedan body style was the only structure being sold. The Honda Civic Ferio sedan grew over the years, and records tell us that from 1991 end to 2005 end the vehicle was produced in multiple modifications. The 1998 to 2000 were the years Vi-RS sedan was produced, while the sporty version came from 1995 to 2000.
The 1990s Beginning
The Honda Civic Ferio of this era, were more a reflection of the general Civics. The initial chassis included EG7, EG8 and EG9 of modifications EL, MX, ETI, VTI and SIR available in front engine front wheel drive (FF). This FF layout brings in fuel economy. Hence the tenure of petrol prices multiplying it is a blessing in disguise. The engine used from year 91 to 95 was D15B, though D13B was also introduced less horsepower with a few improved displacement of B16A. The displacements of the Honda Civic Ferio for sale were 1300 CC, 1500 CC and 1600 CC respectively. The ZC engine EH1 chassis came in 1600 CC with the 4 wheel drive option for better load carriage. The modifications available were RTX and RT SI.
The year 1995 end had chassis EK2, EK3 and EK4 for front engine front wheel drive with 1300 CC, 1500 CC and 1600 CC as the option having the horsepower improvement. The D16A was the four wheel drive option in RTI later followed by Continuously Variable Transmission having the additional modification VI-RS.
The End of 2000
From the year 2000 to 2005 the modifications available were B, B4, IE, RS, L4, C4, C, X, X4, XL with a few special edition option. The chassis ids were ES1, ES2, ES3 and ET2 having the engine D17 an addition. The horse power also got better with more powerful engine. Therefore smoother on road experience through silky gear transmission happened by the end of production.
Technical
The technical soundness brought in better comfort, durability, economy and much more. The modifications had the addition of features with advancement of trim levels. The basic features remained same, giving a refined experience.
Interior
The interior included Power Window and Power Steering for smooth movement, the TV and Navigation for information of area with programs of choice fed in advance. The other inside options included beige or black interior scheming, the comfortable seating with seat belts for safety purpose and much more.
Exterior
The exterior included the color scheming of Blue, Red, Green and Grey in challenging option. General color schemes on the car body had White, the most sold; Silver, the medium sold; and Black the most expensive one. The Alloy Wheels with Roof Rail further worked on giving a sporty and tough look to the vehicle.
Today we see used Honda Civic Ferio available in market, with good condition. It proves the durability and quality this vehicle brings.
