Ford focus is categorized as a compact family car. It was released by the Ford Motor Company in 1998. Its sales initiated in Europe in 1999. It took place of many models of the ford escort and ford laser in north and South America and Europe. In Australasia and Asia it took place of Ford Lacer.


FIRST GENERATION OF FORD FOCUS

The first generation of focus was offered in three body styles such as 5 door wagons, 4 door sedans and 3 door hatchbacks. The North American market of ford began advertising of focus in 1999 however in Europe it was advertised with a few changes to its design. The Focus MK1 has the owner of receiving the 1999 European car of the year award. Its inexpensive price, intelligent handling, meaningful styling and accessibility in different body styles are the features that made it one of the best ford cars.


THE SECOND GENERATION OF FORD FOCUS

The second generation of ford was released in 2004 at the Paris Motor Show. It was offered in hatchback body styles of three and five doors. The sample of this second generation models was presented as the focus concept in four door sedan. The suspension design of the first generation focus was used in this generation with no changes. The exterior dimensions of the second generation focus extended a bit resulting in a more roomy and comfortable interior and boot space.

 

The Focus Mk 2 included technologies such as a KeyFree system, adaptive front lighting, telephone and climate control systems and Bluetooth hands-free phones. In 2005 the Focus ST model; the MK II model of Fords sports division of Focus was introduced. The 2007 and 2008 models were the modified one with Fords Kinetic Design philosophy.


In North America the ford focus was introduced in 2007 at North American International Auto Show. It was available in a four-door sedan and two-door coupe body styles, withdrawing the wagon and hatchbacks.


It used the similar platform of the first generation ford with lots of redesigning in the interior. From new seats to a designed dashboard with ford’s voice controlled bluetooth system.


THE THIRD GENERATION OF FORD FOCUS

The third generation of the ford focus was released in 2010 as Mk3 with combining the North American and international models of the ford. The car was presented at the 2010 North American International Auto Show available in two body styles 5 door estate and a 5 door hatchback with new 2.0L direct injection I4 engine. The new generation of focus included a restyled cabin with fine materials and new entertainment oriented technologies. In 2011 ford released at the Consumer Electronics Show an “all-electric Ford Focus Electric” in order to give a competition to the the Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan Leaf. However the electric cars are only offered in New Jersey, New York and California in small numbers.


A considerable number of used Focus was demanded as it remained a full package choice for the buyers in very affordable prices. The Focus available in coupe body style was the most demanded focus.
