Dear Valued Customers,
Fraudulent Websites and Unauthorized Payment Instructions
SBT has become aware of an increasing number of fraudulent websites and individuals misusing SBT's name or falsely claiming to be associated with SBT.
These scams often use variations or misspellings of the SBT name and imitate legitimate vehicle exporters by displaying vehicle photographs copied from auction houses and established exporters.
SBT conducts its online business only through its official website, www.sbtjapan.com , and its authorized sales representatives.
Any other website, company, or individual claiming to be associated with SBT should be treated as unauthorized unless the association has been expressly confirmed through SBT's Customer Service Desk (CSD).
Due to the increasing number of such scams, customers are strongly advised to remain vigilant when communicating or conducting transactions through the internet, email, telephone, SMS, or messaging applications.
Please follow the guidelines below to confirm that you are dealing with an authorized SBT representative.
Email Correspondence
Official email communications from SBT are sent only from email addresses ending exactly in @sbtjapan.com.
Please check the full sender address carefully, as sender names and similar-looking or misspelled domain names may be used to impersonate SBT.
When replying to an email, completing an online form, or responding to a callback request, always verify the email address, website address, and contact details.
Callback requests should be independently verified through SBT's official Customer Service Desk at csd@sbtjapan.com or +81-45-290-9485.
If you receive a suspicious communication
Do not reply to the sender, click any links, or follow the instructions provided.
Contact CSD directly using the official contact details stated on SBT's website.
Payment Instructions
Customers must make payments only through the payment methods and to the payment destinations stated on a valid SBT proforma invoice or presented through SBT's official payment process.
SBT will never ask customers to disclose online banking passwords, credit card PINs, one-time passwords, security codes, or other confidential financial credentials.
No SBT employee, sales representative, agent, or other person acting or claiming to act on behalf of SBT is authorized to instruct a customer to:
- make a payment to a personal account or an unauthorized third party;
- make a payment to a recipient or payment destination that is not stated on a valid SBT proforma invoice or presented through SBT's official payment process;
- change the beneficiary, payment recipient, account, or payment destination based solely on instructions sent by email, telephone, SMS, or a messaging application;
- split, redirect, or transfer a payment to an alternative or unauthorized recipient; or
- provide passwords, authentication codes, or other confidential financial information.
This applies even if the instruction appears to have been issued by an actual SBT employee or authorized representative.
Any such instruction is unauthorized and must be treated as suspected fraud.
A third party may be impersonating an SBT representative, an email or messaging account may have been compromised, or a person may be acting without SBT's authorization.
If you receive any such instruction, do not make the payment and do not reply using the contact details provided in the suspicious communication.
Immediately report the matter to SBT's Customer Service Desk at csd@sbtjapan.com or +81-45-290-9485, and request independent verification.
Before making any payment, carefully verify that the payment method, recipient, and payment details match the information stated on your valid SBT proforma invoice or displayed through SBT's official payment process.

If you choose to pay by bank transfer, verify that the beneficiary name and bank account details shown on your proforma invoice match the official SBT bank account information below.

What to Do If You Suspect Fraud
If you are directed to a fraudulent website impersonating SBT, receive a suspicious invoice, or receive instructions to make a payment to a different or unauthorized destination, do not make the payment or provide any personal or financial information.
Please report the incident immediately to csd@sbtjapan.com or +81-45-290-9485.
If you have any doubt about a website, invoice, representative, payment method, or payment instruction, contact CSD directly and verify its authenticity before taking any action.
By remaining vigilant and reporting suspicious activity, we can work together to make it more difficult for criminals to commit fraud.
Always exercise caution and use your best judgment. If a communication or payment request appears suspicious, verify it directly with SBT before proceeding.
