Designed as a distributor truck, the Volvo FL was launched in 1985 and offered as a local and regional commercial vehicle. The Volvo FL belongs to the class of small trucks from 12 to 18 tons, which were designed by Volvo Trucks especially for the requirements of city traffic.
Engine
While the older models such as the Volvo FL 6 and the Volvo FL 7 had smaller engine sizes from 180 to 245 hp, the current Volvo FL series, which has been available since 2007, can take up to 280 hp from the economical 7.2-liter Volvo engine out. In combination with the easily switchable six-speed gearbox with servo assistance, this guarantees, among other things, fast delivery of goods before the morning rush hour.
Chassis
In addition there are excellent handling characteristics, a high maneuverability and an engine with exceptionally good response. The Volvo FL is offered in three cabin sizes with a short cab, middle cab and crew cab.

Latest Generation
Production goes into the third generation from 2013 onwards. The commercial vehicle was redesigned to survive in the growing market of low-consumption trucks. From the FL went out in 2006, the more powerful version with the name Volvo FE, the permissible total weight is 26 tons.
