In 1997, the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai introduced the H1 for the first time, the vehicle available as a van or minibus, which is produced since 2008 in the second generation. The first series was available in three different versions. One of them was the Starex, a van based on the H1.
Engine Specification
The model was available with a turbo diesel engine, which brought 80 hp. A stronger diesel and finally a petrol engine managed later on up to 112 hp. compared to the H1 the Starex convinced by a higher quality equipment. It was also available with four-wheel drive.
The Grand Starex H1 from Hyundai had among others the traditional VW Caddy as competitors. The van was also available as a high roof combination and was manufactured in the 9KV version between 1995 and 2003. The different gasoline and diesel engines made it to a power of 90 hp. As a transmission type, a five-speed transmission was available.
Fuel Consumption
The fuel consumption was depending on the engine between 5.5 and 8.2 liters per 100 km. Both cars enjoy great popularity in the used car market.
Upgrade Starex
The updated version of Hyundai Grand Starex completely changed the design of the front end of the body, upgraded the interior and added a new premium version.
The front end of the minivan became stricter due to horizontal LED headlights and a large grille. In the cabin the ventilation deflectors, the design of the center console and the combination of instruments have been changed.
Top Model - Urban
With the upgrade to the Grand Starex range, a premium version has been added, which interests businessmen. The new version is called Urban; it has an original instrument panel with a much more modern design, a new steering wheel and a 9-seater layout - with individual seats with individual armrests on the second and third rows.

The Grand Starex Urban seats are trimmed with leather, the instrument panel has a two-tone design and decorative inserts for the varnished wood. Other features: 8-inch floating display of the multimedia system, 17-inch wheels with light alloy wheels and chrome plated lamellae in the grille.
Basic Model
The basic model of the Grand Starex in Korea is still offered in four versions: minivans for 11 or 12 seats, as well as all-metal wagons for 3 or 5 seats.
