Introduction Toyota Prius

Toyota Prius is a compact mid-size four-door sedan and five-door hatchback (since 2003) full hybrid electric vehicle first presented in 1997 by Toyota. The Toyota Prius comes with front engine and front wheel drive and e-CVT transmission.

Toyota Aqua which is commonly known as Toyota Prius C is also produced by Toyota; however it is a subcompact five-door hatchback fully hybrid gasoline electric car. The Aqua comes with front engine and front wheel drive on a Toyota B platform. The Toyota Aqua is a third model of the Prius family, so it combines all the features of a Toyota Yaris small car in a hybrid powertrain.


The Toyota Aqua is priced much lower than the traditional Prius as well as it also has a higher fuel economy means low fuel consumption in city. The Aqua was also ranked in 2012 by the EPA as the most fuel efficient vehicle when plug-in electric cars are not included.

The Toyota Prius comes with 1.8 liter inline four-cylinder engine that delivers the maximum torque of 142Nm @ 4000rpm along with maximum power of 73kW @ 5200rpm, where as the latest Aqua comes with 1.5 liter four-cylinder inline engine provides the maximum power of 111Nm @ 4000rpm mated with maximum torque of 54kW @ 4800rpm. Both of the cars are front wheel drive with continuous variable transmission.

The fuel consumption of Toyota Prius is 3.4 liter per 100 kilometer along with 43 liters fuel tank capacity, on the other hand, the fuel tank capacity of Aqua is 36 liters with average fuel consumption of 3.9 liters per 100 kilometers.

However, Prius has 15 inches alloy wheels and Toyota aqua comes with hill holder.
