Suzuki Alto Or Swift - Which One Is A Better Option

The Suzuki Alto is categorized as a kei car produced by the Suzuki. It is well known for its low price and better fuel economy. It was first released in 1979 and was produced and sold in many countries all around the world.

Suzuki released the Indian version based on the fifth generation of Alto in 2000 as “Maruti Alto”. It was produced by the Maruti Suzuki in India. It became the best-selling hatchback in India. It was exported to the European markets in bulk and to some other countries as well.

FIRST GENERATION OF SUZUKI SWIFT

The Suzuki Swift first entered the market as a supermini that was produced and promoted in different countries of the world. It was offered in four body styles such as a four-door sedan, two-door convertible three-door hatchback and five-door hatchback.  In the domestic markets of Japan it is promoted as the Suzuki cultus and in all other parts of the world with different names such as Suzuki Forsa, Suzuki Swift, Chevrolet Swift, Suzuki Jazz, Sprint Metro and Chevrolet Sprint. The three-door hatchback became the basis for the swift sports in Japan, also known as the Ignis in other markets in different parts of the world. The production of this sport model ended in 2005.

 

SECOND GENERATION SUZUKI SWIFT

The second generation Suzuki swift was released in 2004 at the Paris motor show with a refined chassis, the focus was given to the designing and driving features of the European markets. The vehicle was marketed with the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo for the European market model eventually giving a considerable boom to the sales.


THIRD GENERATION OF SUZUKI SWIFT

The third generation of Suzuki swift was manufactured in Hungary. When compared with the previous generation models, it had a more rounded exterior. In Thailand it is produced locally. It is available in three models such as GA, GL and GLX with a CVT automatic transmission, also available with a five-speed manual transmission. In Malaysian market the Suzuki swift was released in 2013.
