Subaru Pleo Plus, Smaller But Smarter in Many Ways

The Japanese automaker Subaru owns the Subaru Pleo cars since 2010. These vehicles are labeled as kei cars which mean small vehicles in Japan. In comparison to other Kei cars hatchbacks, Pleo is taller. The Pleo has launched four upgrades ever since it’s launching in 1998.

The First Generation

On October 9, 1998 the first-generation Pleo went on sale in Japan. It replaced the Vivio due to the dictation regarding the size change in the Kei car tax bracket came from Japanese regulations. Hence, every manufacturer had to redesign all Kei car models. In June 1999, the Nesta was launched which was Subaru’s luxurious edition. The LS, a sporty edition was launched in October. In December, they launched Le edition.

The Second Generation

OEM-contracted by Daihatsu produced the second generation Subaru Pleo. In comparison to first generation the car developed gradually from a compact minivan in the hatchback. The second generation also saw the car became lower height (1530 mm). The height of the car became lower (1530 mm) in the second generation.

Engine Specs

Used Subaru Pleo Plus for Sale will be an ideal choice for the roads which are narrow. The Pleo will offer more promising performance on road due to its specs. It has 650 cc, three cylinder that generates 51 hp and 44 lb-ft of torque linked with variable transmission. The acceleration is not strong, despite the CVT. Due to the fact that Pleo accelerates without any alacrity, stiffer springs and dampers are offered. Its small tires provide excellent grip due to its low curb weight. The start-stop system has been assigned to it which utilizes regenerative braking.

Smaller but Smart

Subaru Pleo Plus is smaller but still in comparison to some larger vehicles its hauling capability (for both passengers and cargo) is better. Regardless of the fact that they are super mini vehicles, efficiency is not compromised. Most of them are a hoot to drive. Another important fact to consider is Subaro Plus includes AWD (All Wheel Drive) and it can get over 70 mpg in Japan. Even if, the weight is measured after carrying people in it, Subaru Pleo Plus still gets 50 mpg, which is not bad either.
