The Peugeot is categorized as a supermini car that was manufactured by the French automaker Peugeot from 1998 to 2010. Its production ended in 2010 but it was available in European markets as the 206+. It was very much familiar with the 207 model with its front and rear styling. In South America and in China it was available under the name plate 207. It was also sold under the name Citroën C2.
It was first introduced in 1998 as a hatchback form, in 2000 as a coupe cabriolet and as a station wagon in 2001 and finally as a sedan in 2005. Its modified version was at first released in South America in 2008, in china it was released in many body styles such as hatchback, sedan and station wagon in 2008. Afterwards the version was finally released in Europe in 2009 and was only available in hatchback and was promoted a 206.
The Peugeot 206 CC was released at the Paris Motor Show in 2000. It was a coupé cabriolet. It was manufactured in France. Its production stopped in 2008. And it was finally replaced by the 207 CC.
THE Peugeot 206 GTi180 and 206 RC
The Peugeot 206 GTi180 and 206 RC were released in 2003; the GTi180 was introduced to the UK market while the 206 RC was launched in the rest of Europe. Features offered on the 206 GTi180 and 206 RC are racing bucket front seats, 17 inch alloy wheels and a short shift gear linkage.
206 SD (SEDAN)
The 206 SD (Sedan) was designed in Iran and was released as a 2006 model car. It was the last variety of the Peugeot 206 models. Its export initiated in 2006 to many countries, Algeria, Turkey and Russia. In Brazil its production began in 2008 and was marketed as 207 Passion. In china and Malaysia it was only available in sedan and was known as peugeot 207.
Peugeot 206 ESCAPEDEPEUGEOT 206
In some of the South American markets an off-roader model of the Peugeot 206 was sold as the Peugeot 206 Escapade. It is basically a Peugeot 206 SW station wagon charged with a 1.6L 16v engine.
Peugeot Citoren C2
The Citroën C2 is a 2006 Chinese version of the car. It was available with a modified front and rear body. The car has no similar features with the European Citroën C2 yet it was sold under the same name in china only.
NAZA 206 BESTARI
The Peugeot 206 was marketed as the Naza in Malaysia. The notable features are 1.4L petrol engine and an option of 5- speed manual transmission and 4-speed automatic transmission. 206 SD took place of 207 in Malaysia.
Peugeot 206+ (2009-2012)
The 206+ was a modified version of 206. It was offered with a new front look and designing and was very much familiar to the European 207.
The car was released in 2009 and was produced in France.
In 2008, the Brazilian branch revealed that they will not be producing and importing the Peugeot 207. But they would bring modifications to the 206 Peugeot. It was offered in three different body styles such as Chevrolet Agile, Renault Clio Campus and Volkswagen Fox.
