The two-generation Nissan X-Trail (T31) has been the successor of the Nissan X-Trail (T30) since 2007. The Nissan X-Trail is a five-door SUV with front or all-wheel drive. The X-Trail is offered with the following engines: 2.0 - 2.5-liter petrol (141 - 169 hp) and 2.0-liter diesel (150 - 173 hp).
Design
The Nissan Xtrail T31 came with the same motto, no new experiments with the design. Because a customer survey among the X-Trail owners showed that they liked the angular and rectilinear shape of the previous model very well. Therefore, the Japanese remained faithful to their line and presented the second X-Trail generation completely redesigned, but without neglecting the popular original form of the predecessor.
Spotlight on Selling Elements
The engine is almost horizontal, giving a very good overview. The spare wheel fits at the tailgate, but under the car floor, the view through the rear window is also good. Both are extremely helpful, as the new has grown in size.
Increased Luggage Compartment
The most prominent element is the outside length, which has grown by 4.63 meters by nearly 18 centimeters and mainly benefits the luggage compartment. Folding the inclination-adjustable and three-part rear seat together results in a maximum volume of the trunk that accommodates a couple of full-size luggage. The double loading floor with the underlying drawer also ensures that small items can be placed underneath.
Interior
The interior comes with a soft surface materials driver seat and homely atmosphere. For better readability, the instrument cluster from the cockpit center now finally moved behind the three-spoke steering wheel. There is now a large storage compartment. The X-Trail T31 offers plenty of storage possibilities - as even the slightly narrow-cut door pockets can easily place small things.
Smooth Drive
Once on the road, the almost two-ton Nissan T30 is a surprisingly high driving comfort. The chassis with a new multi-link rear axle even smoothly pushes hard shocks away: Nothing rattles or jumps; the X-Trail T31 shows itself qualitatively solidly processed. The drive deserves all the praise.
Engine & Consumption
The new common-rail turbodiesel with powerful 173 hp from the alliance partner Renault speaks to gas commands after a slight start-up weakness; it is both torsional and elastic. The consumption of Xtrail T31 is adequate 7.9 liters per 100 kilometers. In addition, the easy-to-use six-speed gear is extremely easy to handle.
