The name Mitsubishi is taken up in the company logo, which represents three diamonds: mitsu means three, and bhishi (actually: water chestnut) describes in Japanese the form of a diamond. After the end of the war, the company will be smashed by the American occupiers into numerous companies, which from a legal standpoint will henceforth be considered independent companies, but will continue to operate under the common Mitsubishi logo.
