In the van class, Hyundai continued presenting its large-capacity sedan Hyundai Santamo on the partnership with the Japanese group Mitsubishi in the market, who had designed the construction platform for the Santamo.
Next to the Hyundai Santamo, in 2000 the South Korean made another successful model named as Hyundai Trajet and remain in the production until the end of 2008 in the program. In 2004 a facelift received a slight technical as well as visual.
Exterior & Dimensions
In its exterior appearance, the Hyundai Trajet is much parallel of Hyndai Santamo 2003. For the Hyundai Trajet the focus was on optimal space utilization in the interior as well. Therefore, the Hyundai Trajet received a classically common body in pronounced box shape, which grew up to a height of 1.76 meters.
In length, the Hyundai Trajet compared to the Hyundai Santamo is almost twenty centimeters less than in total length. And even with its width of 1.84 meters, the Hyundai Trajet significantly outperformed the more compact predecessor. The space concept of the Hyundai Trajet, is oriented by the American cars models. This meant that the Hyundai Trajet should not only provide enough space for a third row of seats in the rear to accommodate seven passengers.
Rather, the developers realized a multi-functional usage concept in which the Hyundai Trajet could be transformed into a leisure vehicle. This was made possible by the rear seats, which can be rotated to the rear, and the rear seats, which can be converted into table surfaces.
The Engines of the Hyundai Trajet
The Hyundai Trajet was offered as a gasoline entry-level model that provided the Van from South Korea up to 100 kW (136 hp) in performance.
