Honda Stepwgn
The Honda Stepwgn previously considered as an out-of-competition car in the fifth-class minivans class. But in the second half of last year the Stepwgn model changed completely. In addition to this, their new competitor Voxy and Noah released by Toyota.
Toyota Voxy
New minivan of Toyota, namely Voxy is known to have been developed on the basis of Lite Ace Noah and Town Ace Noah and is part of the so-called 5th category of monocabs according to the internal Japanese classification.
Until now, Lite Ace and Town Ace were considered freight wagons of a wagon configuration, looked almost identical and had only a rear-wheel drive. Now its a front-wheel-drive car that intends to compete with the unbeaten champion the Honda Stepwgn, and then another with a series of cars the Nissan Serena.
Engine Specifications
The rear suspension of the Voxy in its basic details is the same as that of the Toyota Ipsum, namely, a torsion type with a longitudinal lever. The 2-liter gasoline engine of the 1AZ-FSE with 4 cylinders is used in such latest Toyota models as Vista Ardeo, Gaia and Nadia.
Style Changes
Changes in the exterior of Honda touched the front bumper, front lining, rear lights, rear door and bumper. They are of a varied nature, but they are stylish. Prior to that, Honda carried a lot of small details, which were a bit tiring, but now they all disappeared.
Interior
The instrument panel is newly designed on the front panel of the cabin. And they did a lot of work on it. In the upper part of the free space the monitor is added. The sound system remained, however, in place. In addition, it became more voluminous boxes for storing any small things in the central section of the panel.
The main advantage of switching to the front drive of Voxy is that it is possible to significantly reduce the floor level and, accordingly, increase the volume of the cabin. The height of the floor in front of the drivers seat is 440 mm, which is 75 mm lower than on the rear-wheel drive car. Its not as low as the Honda Stepwgn with its 420 mm, but still at the level of modern passenger monocabs.
Seating
Clear attention was paid to the developers like the adjustment of the position of the seats. As before, there are 7 seats in the cabin. However, a new version has also been developed, in which a separate type of armchair is placed in the second row.
For those who are going to carry elongated objects inside the cabin, developers offer to install in the third row detachable chairs, the same as in the Nissan Serene or Voxy. In short, choose what your heart desires! The parking brake lever is converted to the pedal.
