The Chevrolet Camaro was a representative of the so-called muscle cars, or also called pony cars, and ran from 1966 off the assembly line. The sports car excelled in all generations by a special design and V8 engines. It is built on the same basis as the Pontiac Firebird. The model is available as a coupe and convertible.
Chevrolet Camaro
The first generation came in 1966 to 1970 could be ordered from the outset as a convertible and as a coupe. It was made almost yearly changes in design and body. Within a few years the Camaro was not only a popular sports car, but also took several prizes at major auto racing. Dodge Challenger
The historic Dodge Challenger Chrysler occupied with the early 1970s, a position in the booming segment of the market at this time of American pony cars, among which primarily compact coupes were understood with large-displacement engines. The Dodge Challenger was introduced in 1969, however, in addition to the construction in 1970 and 1971, in an open version as Cabriolet is manufactured with a fabric roof. The first generation of the Dodge Challenger was (145 hp) (425 hp) built in different performance levels from entry-level model with 3.7-liter displacement and 107 kW up to the top model with a V8 Hemi engine and 313 kW up to 1974. After the era of large-displacement and therefore power-intensive muscle cars Chrysler took in the years 1978-1983 a Mitsubishi in Japan produced Coupé -series into the program, which was marketed in the US under the name Dodge Challenger.
New Generation of Dodge Challenger
Nearly 35 years after the expiry of the production of the first Challenger-generation brought Chrysler after the separation from Daimler a remake of the sport coupe on the market, its design with the slit-shaped grille and four round headlights and across the lines tight 70 to the overall lifetimes model leaned.
