When the Bentley Arnage rolled off the band in the spring of 1998, the British were able to boast of offering one of the worlds fastest luxury limousines. Prior to the split-up of Rolls-Royce, the old owner decided to replace the previously installed V8 engines from its own production in the new Bentley Arnage with a drive that should be more modern and economical.
They looked around for the potential suppliers and found their way to Munich. BMW was commissioned to supply the new V8 engines. The engine manufacturer Cosworth, who was part of Rolls-Royce, then fitted the engines to Bentley Arnage.
Engine
The Bentley Arnages first generation of engines received their sporting dynamics through the installation of two turbochargers, which enabled the available 260 kW (353 hp) to develop.
