The seven years have been emphasized in literature and even in automobile industry. William Shakespeare has defined seven ages of man in one of its play where life span of a person is discussed to perfection. It seems that Toyota Brevis also came as to give taste of what Toyota can do in competition with BMW 3-Series and Mercedes C-Class. The word “Brevis” means the short amount of time or duration and made the car availability till seven years only. The vehicle is directly related to Lexus IS and Toyota Progress and was based on Toyota XG platform.

The Mechanical Aspect Of Toyota Brevis

The Toyota Brevis is a front engine rear wheel drive and all wheel drive option with 4 doors to support the sedan look. The displacement includes the 2500 CC and 3000 CC option all available in inline 6 technologies. The double wish bone suspension in all wheels make grip more enhanced in road though it required a lot of improvement that made Toyota drop the idea to further continue with the production.

The Experience

The experience was more of a luxury vehicle with all the specs intact to perfection. The exterior brought in Alloy Wheel to support the tires with aesthetic beauty of Toyota Brevis enhanced. The Roof Rail brought in additional luggage storage ease with the sun roof in few cases available in place of Roof Rail for 360 degree panoramic view.


The inside is loaded with features including the Power Window for smooth window transition, Power Steering for making steering wheel more efficient in maneuvering by alignment with tires. In the single screen, Navigation System and TV are installed, on dashboard for information related to the vicinity map alongside the TV that acts as a source of entertainment.


In this short tenure from 2001 to 2007 the price was best managed and the vehicle carved niche with no replacement introduced after that.
