The trend of mainstream family SUV cars was started by the Nissan Qashqai, when it was first launched in 2007. In the beginning, the owners had considered it a gamble to introduce it in the market. But the reputation and success it holds now, one can assume that the decision was right. At that time, the usual hatchbacks ruled the markets and sale charts. The Nissan Qashqai was considered a weak contender and people were not ready to place it with the dominant hatchbacks.

Popular Design

The stylish looks and exalted driving position had made Nissan an instant hit. It took every manufacturer attention and they wanted to design the same car like it. The sheer brilliance has seen in the second-generation of its predecessor. Peugeot 3008, Seat Ateca and Skoda Karoq are its biggest competitors and giving Nissan Qashqai a hard time in the sale market.

Engines

The model entry-level 1.2-litre petrol is appropriate for urban driving. The 1.6 L petrol is much faster and to give its performance a fair few revolution per minute (rev) needed. Considering contrast 1.5-litre diesel is not much faster but the power is evenly delivered and its low revs make it courageous. If you are looking for lifting luggage and items on a regular basis then 1.6 litre diesel engine is for you as it is stronger.

Transmissions

The standard gearbox offers six-speed manual transmission and provides balance in shift action. The 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.6 diesel include the automatic option. The sky-high revs are smartly avoided by this type of gearbox.

Body Maneuver

The body movements are nicely controlled by the suspension of Qashqai, providing not much lean even if the car is being driven quickly. That is something you may not expect from an SUV. The steering is not ideal though, it’s a little heavy and slow especially when enabling sport mode.

The Nissan Qashqai is designed in such a way that it provides comfort to most people. It offers seating arrangement in a good range. The passenger seat contains four-way electric lumbar support adjustment in new Qashqai Tekna plus.

The Entertainment Features

The entertainment offers two distinct grades Visia and Acenta editions. These offer basic stereo. It has the Bluetooth connectivity as standard, with clear and marked buttons, it’s easy to use. If we talk about N-Connecta or Tekna trims, they offer Nissan a connect system, the dashboard contains 7 inch touch screen. It offers USB socket along with DAB radio and satellite navigation.

Space and Availability

The rear half of Nissan Qashqai is spacious, with lots of head room. For short journeys, three adults can easily be fit in the back and for longer trips; two tall grown-ups will be an appropriate choice in this vehicle. There is not much space available for storage though only the back of the front seats contain a small cubby in the centre console.
