Kia Motors is the second largest automobile manufacturer that has its 30% shares owned by Hyundai Motor Company. From its name meaning “rising out of Asia” to its multiple vehicle range trying its best to carve niche; everything shows the gesture to improvement over the years. And the best part is that the vehicle range is being refined with every changing generation. Its range includes Kia Vista, Kia Sportage, Kia Soul , Kia Pregio, Kia Optima and Kia Elan to name a few, as there are a total of approximately 50 models that have gained market in the local and international industry.

With the tough competition from Japan and America, this South Korean brand made place in heart of customers right away, with following advantages.

 

Cost Efficiency

In order to manage cost well, the diverse range of products that this company of Korean cars started manufacturing in different countries. This led to formation of subsidiaries as Kia Motors America, Kia Motors Europe. This gave the local market of this global village a break, as the local people brought with them the experience of local industry. This gave insight that was not possible for Kia in Korea to gain. The cost of production followed by marketing and sales in later phase saw great difference toward positivity because of the cost strategy this Korean cars company followed. The raw material and labour cost was able to meet that of the American and European local market, leading to share acquisition from these companies.

 

Sound Mechanics

Because the cost of production was reduced, the Kia cars were able to focus its attention to improvement of mechanics. Initially a few of Kia cars were having the safety and material issues leading to poor functioning. But with research and development it was able to come in safe range for sales in multiple markets. It should also be considered that whether it is Korean used cars industry or the market brand new vehicles there are multiple countries that require strict inspection. So initially Kia dealers were giving the feedback that the cars were unable to meet the requirement of global customers, because of the low standard product.  But now we see that the problem has been rectified, to the extent that mechanics are now above the minimal standard, making dealers better off.

 

Look and Feel Up to the Mark

Along with mechanics, the look and feel was improved over the years. The different vehicles now have sharper body with features to support compatibility and ease of drive for global customers. The customers of hatchback, sedan, station wagon to name a few in personal use market, seems happier with the Korean vehicle than they were before. This had led to generating more word of mouth, making the loyal customer base of Kia multiply, giving it superior level than it was before.
The right combination of feature with individual car styles is something that is an achievement in itself for the Kia range of products. So we can safely say that Kia experienced a lot of barriers but managed to perfection.
