The Jaguar XJ is categorized as a full-size luxury car promoted by the British automobile brand Jaguar Cars.
The first model of the XJ was launched in 1968. The model appeared in many media shoots. Thecontemporary jaguar XJ was released in 2009 and has the title of one of the Royal cars; used by the royal families in the UK.


SERIES 1
The first series Jaguar was released in 1968. The standard features included leather upholstery and power-assisted steering on the 2.8 L De Luxe and 4.2 L models while the air conditioning was available as an optional feature on the 4.2 L. Daimler models were released in 1969, it was marketed in many of television advertisements.Twin fuel tanks were included as one of the features inspired by the S-Type saloons and the Mark X. Primarily the vehicle received many favorable reviews based on the ride quality and the brakes.


SERIES II
The second generation Jaguar XJ is known as the “Series II”. It was modified in 1973 and was launched as the 1974 year model. The Series II models had poor quality and received a lot of criticism for its bad reputation. The interior had significant updates and the exterior had some significant modifications when compared with the previous series.


XJ COUPE
The XJ Coupe was a two-door coupe produced between 1975 and 1978. It was released in 1973 at the London Motor Show. However it was made available in bulk after two years due to the economic turmoil in the western world.


 SERIES 3
The Series 3 was released in 1979 as modified version of the XJ. When compared with the previous series, it had thicker rubber bumpers. The flush door handles were incorporated for increasing the level of safety, for enhancing visibility, the glass area was increased.


XJ40
The XJ40 was the code name for the modified version of the XJ series. It was released in 1986 at the British International Motor Show. Due to the 1973 oil crisis, the production and the sales of the model were rather delayed. This model put more emphasis on the reduction of the cabin noise, increased the level of firmness of the chassis and reduced weight with the focus on the build quality of the vehicle.


X300
The X300 had a curvaceous exterior with the mechanics used from the last model XJ. Jaguar’s first supercharged XJR was released in the X300 production, it was the company’s very first supercharged road car. When Ford Motor Company took the ownership of the Jaguar during 1990 and 2007, it greatly had many impacts on the X300. It also had many auto parts from the Ford incorporated into the vehicle such as air-conditioner and traction control.


X308
This generation was released in 1997. It was charged with a new V8 engine. The exterior designs were very much similar to that of the previous generations except for the use of the round foglights and oval indicator lenses.


X350
Jaguar released the X350 in 2003. It had an aluminum body with huge interior and spacious luggage area. The model was also electronically updated with the Alpine audio system, satellite navigation and bluetooth telephone.


X358
The X358 was launched in 2007 with significant changes including a new lower grille system and the interior was furnished with new seating.


X351
The X351 was released in 2009 in London. It was a complete different design with an extended exterior dimensions.
