The Cadillac SRX is categorized as a luxury mid-size crossover SUV manufactured by the American carmaker General Motors. It was first released in 2004. Since 2010 in the United States it has been ranked as the highest selling model of Cadillac.


THE FIRST GENERATION CADILLAC SRX

The first generation of Cadillac is charged with either a High-Feature V6 or a North Star V8. This is manufactured on the GM Sigma platform. It is offered with a five or six-speed automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.


It is available with an all-leather interior and side curtain airbags are offered as standard features on both the models. On the V8 wood interior trim and heated front seats are offered as standard features while on the V6 the same features are offered as optional features. Other optional features include a navigation system, DVD and a sunroof along with foldable third-row seat. It received the award of Car and Drivers Five Best Trucks "luxury SUV" consecutive in 2004, 2005, 2006. In 2007, a sports package was made available as an option. It also got nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award for 2004.


THE SECOND GENERATION CADILLAC SRX

The second generation Cadillac SRX was released in 2010. It was based on the new Provoqconcept vehicle. The V8 model has been dropped from the production line of this generation. It initiated its production in 2009. The official release of the SRX took place in the beginning of 2009.it was made available with either a 3.0 liter V6 or a 2.8 liter turbocharged V6.


In 2011 the production of the second generation srx with 2.8 liter turbo-charged V6 engine was dropped as the sales of the model was rather low and a new model with a 3.6 liter V6 with E85 flex-fuel capability was made available for sale. In 2013 year model Cadillac, the different models of the SRX were offered with an infotainment system and it was advertized as Cadillac User Experience.

The 2015 Cadillac SRX is defined a compact luxury crossover SUV offered in four models Base, Luxury, Performance and Premium. The 2015 Cadillac is offered with a combination of high-tech safety and luxury features. To facilitate a quality ride there are numerous electronic features however the CUE infotainment system is very annoying to use. The SRXs interior gives you a very calm ambiance with a refined quality appearance and feel with a balanced order of luxury and technology.
The 2015 Cadillac is available with sufficient room for four adult passengers but the head room and legroom is very limited in the rear seats. Cargo area can be rated as average since it is not roomy enough when compared with other SUV.


Since Insurance Institute for Highway Safety reported the Cadillac’s poor safety features. Therefore, General Motors reviewed their 2010 Cadillac for the risk of engine failure and latter a customer satisfaction program was conducted in order to improve the standards of quality of the vehicle. The issue of the engine failure was treated as a serious damage to the safety of the car and therefore the NHTSA  demanded a recall.
