Audi RS7 - Extraordinary Luxury Car

After the sports version Audi S7 had expanded the engine range upwards in the spring of 2012, with the year of construction 2013 went on sale as the Audi RS7 Sportback and now plays the role of the flagship in the Audi A7 series. The Audi RS7 Sportback is manufactured by the Audi subsidiary Quattro. As with the other sports models of the manufacturer, the subsidiary quattro took over the development as well as the production of the Audi RS7 Sportback.

The reason behind this was the technical components such as chassis or brakes had to be specially adapted to accommodate the high-performance engine installed in the Audi RS7. In addition, the flagship got a modified body and a special interior.

Audi RS7 Overview

Thus, the Audi RS7 differed from the conventional production models of the Audi A7 series by a modified front section with honeycomb radiator grille, in particular the wide air intakes on both sides and the spoiler lip attracted attention.

The interior features of the Audi RS7 were the bucket seats and a modified instrument panel with a tachometer with the RS7 logo adapted to the higher engine power.

Four-Wheel Drive with Sports Differential

To improve the driving characteristics and to facilitate the handling of the sports model, the manufacturer equipped the Audi RS7 as standard with an all-wheel drive, whose special sports differential could control the rear wheels separately.

Depending on the driving situation, the drive torques could thus be distributed more optimally to the axles. This technique should prove itself especially in cornering, as the traction and improved cornering could be prevented. Optionally, the manufacturer offered a sport suspension for the Audi RS7 with electronic control of the roll movements via a hydraulic system. As standard on board was a ceramic brake system.

Technology

For the engine of the Audi RS7 Sportback, the designer used the familiar from the Audi S7 V8 engine with two turbochargers, but for the work in the top model of the series was again increased in performance.

This allowed the Audi RS7 to access an output of up to 412 kW (560 hp). In conjunction with the eight-speed automatic transmission, a standard acceleration time of 3.9 seconds was achieved. Special feature of the RS7: An automatic cylinder deactivation should ensure more efficient operation and enable an average consumption of 9.8 liters per 100 kilometers.
