Lupo 3L
The Lupo 3 was made with the concept of the most fuel efficient car consuming very little amount of fuel and therefore the Lupo was considerably modified from the standard Lupo. It was available with a 2 litre three-cylinder diesel engine along with a direct injection and a turbocharger. Automatic engine start/ stop options to save time, automated clutch and gearbox to increase fuel efficiency and use of aluminum and magnesium alloys to make wheels, engine block, seat frames, rear-hatch, bonnet and door as weightless as it could be.
The 3L, the GTI and the FSI were made with light weight but tougher steel sheets. The car had an ECO mode, a unique feature for the European cars. To remain the fuel consumption less affected the 3L had few options available as the options were adding the vehicle weight. The offered options that were available initially were fog lights, electrically controlled mirrors and different paint colors. To increase the car sales, other options were made available such as air conditioning, all-electric steering, and electric windows. 1L Concept was also introduced with the same concept of the most fuel efficient car during the production of Lupo 3L
Lupo FSI
The Lupo FSI was only bought in Germany and Austria. It was the petrol variation of the Lupo 3L which is capable to give 5L/100 km. the exterior was quite similar to a 3L but it did not have the magnesium steering wheel of the 3L and had a standard front grill.
Lupo GTI
The GTI had twin central exhausts and its fully body-colored bumpers and twin central exhausts. This version was equipped with the maximum numbers of standard features off black interior, alloy wheels and bi-xenon headlights. The GTI had a top speed of 127 mph with DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine.
SAFETY
Safety is the most vital part when designing a small car. Lupo has a very rigid chassis and is furnished with crumple zones to take in impact. Anti-lock Braking System, Front and rear head restraints, Driver’s and frontage seated airbags, three-point seat belts, Height-adjustable, Rear three-point seat belts x 2, High level 3rd brake light and Isofix preparation (for 2 rear child seats)
LOW LEVEL OF CO2 EMISSION
The vehicle has been designed in a way to keep it less weighty as the higher the weight of the car is the higher is the level of co2 emission. And the CO2 figure mentioned is the highest possible limit
