The company was founded as a Gas Industry Company in 1910 had the broadened its product line to electronic parts and automobiles. The change of the name to Tokyo Gas and Electric Industry TG & E happened. The company introduced its first vehicle in 1917, and later merged its automobile division for knowledge enhancement. The company sustained its position after World War II, though the war affected sales of marine appliances and concentrated to trucks, buses and diesel engine.
The Humble Beginning
The first truck was introduced in 1950 that continued till 1968, and had the name of Hino TH Series. The Ford N series was rebadged version of Hino Ranger models. The Profia rebadged as Hino 700 heavy duty truck was sold in export market, with medium truck coded as Hino 600. The light truck Dutro was sold as Hino 300 later replaced by Ranger 2 FA, FB and FC. It was satisfying heavy machinery and everyday inventory carriage to the best at that moment.
