Honda, the Japanese automaker produced Honda Prelude from 1978 until 2001. The Honda Prelude is a sports coupé which answered the need of racing cars. The two-door coupé was inspired by Honda Accord and left behind a legacy of 5 generations. The Honda Prelude was used as an introductory product for the Honda retail sales chain known as Honda Verno, with the Prelude shortly introduced later internationally.


Traditionally, Honda Prelude competed with the Toyota Celica, the Nissan Silvia and the Mitsubishi Eclipse. Honda ceased the production of the Prelude in 2001 upon the introduction of the Honda Integra .
