The Nissan Silvia CSP311 was released in 1964 at the Tokyo Motor Show. it was known as the  "Datsun Coupe 1500". The introductory model was based on the Fairlady convertible. It was a hand build coupe and was designed by the Albrecht Goertz. It had a very similar appearance with the Lancia Fulvia coupe.

It was charged with a 1.6 L Nissan R series engine. And the engine featured SU Carburetors. The production of the car stopped after the release of the 554. All these were very exclusive and handmade. The value of each car was determined with the production of a few numbers of cars and the tiresome way of its construction. Nissan ceased the production of the CSP311 in 1968.the car was marketed with the same approach used by the Isuzu 117 Coupé.

The name of the car is derived from the word “Sylvia” meaning a type of birds it might be a reference to the Nissan bluebird. In japan it was only available at the Nissan Bluebird Store under the label Nissan instead of the “Datsun”.

THE S10

The S10 was the first Silvia that was produced as a mass-production. It was developed on the all-new S platform. It was a sporty car platform, for a compact car and rear-wheel-drive. The Japanese based models were only available at the Japanese dealership known as Nissan Prince Store. The S10 was less famous vehicle when compared with Toyota and Mazda. It had a very limited number of traditional lines. It was equipped with a 1.8 L L18 inline-4 engine, also used by the Datsun 610/Bluebird 180B. The Japanese based model had Datsun 610/Bluebird 180B while in the North American market a model having larger displacement was included under the label 200B. This North American model had 5mph bumpers and was labeled as the Datsun 200SX. Both the Datsun 200SX and The S10 Silvia were based on the Datsun Sunny Coupe. Their success was very limited.

Nissan Silvia S110

The Silvia model for the United States and the Canadian market was known as the Datsun 200SX. In Mexico it was known as the Datsun Sakura, it was offered as a three door hatchback and two-door hardtop coupe.

The Japanese market model was known as the Gazelle and it was exclusively available for sale at the Nissan Bluebird Store whereas the coupe bodystyle Silvia was exclusively available at the Nissan Prince Store. Its sharp-edged styling was very familiar to the new Nissan Leopard offered in sedan and coupe. The S110 Silvia was a progressive series in terms of its designed approved by the Nissan. It had a rotary engine. It used the same chassis as used by the Mazda Cosmo. It no longer shared the chassis with the B-series Nissan Sunny and was modified to a larger A-series Nissan Stanza platform.

240 RS

The 240RS was available as a coupe equipped with the 2.4-liter DOHC FJ24 engine. The 240RS was developed between 1983 and 1985.it also took part as Nissans official rally car in the World Rally Championship.
