The Carnival is not so old in age minivan introduced by Kia in late 90’s. Since its first age, we were able to follow all good design and engineering traits in Kia Carnival. The customer response has been good too which tells us about its comfort, strength of engine and its quietness in and outside the town.

 

KIA CARNIVALKia has not gone so far in the generation and the engine and design configurations from the first generation are still under the manufacturing process in different regions which makes it clear that the car’s modernism is still consumable. The car was assembled in Malaysia since the beginning and there it was named as Naza Ria. In US it was named as Kia Sedona where it was classified as minivan. At that time Sienna Toyota, Honda Odyssey and Ford Windstar were its competitors. Kia Carnival not only gave fine competition to these cars but was also the largest selling car from its manufacturers during its first age. The recent model, KIA Carnival 2015 and 2014 is in high demand.

 

First Generation of KIA Carnival

In its First generation a 3.5L engine with V6 technology was configured to provide the high power option of 195hp. The 4-speed and 5-speed automatic transmissions were standard as a good power option. Still there were a few things that were missing and that could be found in the minivans by other manufacturers of that age. There was no power liftgate or automatic sliding doors in the minivan. The flat fold third seat row that has been a huge demand in minivans since that age was also missing in Kia Carnival. The automatic features that are a must now like navigation, back up sensors and rear view camera can be installed in this car for a reasonable price but are not the part of standard version.

 

Besides the lack of technical advantages was noticeable in the car, it enjoyed good sale. That was because of its good engine configuration which always supplied satisfactory performance to its users. The fuel economy inside the city was recorded as 15.1mpg which later improved to 15.9mpg. As for highways the fuel economy was 21.6mpg which improved incredibly up to 24.5mpg in Kia Carnival 2005.

 

In Australia where minivans always remain in demand Kia Carnival was good enough and so enjoyed selling and reselling. It even did beat the Tarago by Toyota and KIA CARNIVALbecame the most preferable minivan in 2000. The sales slowed down for a bit which was recovered later after a few years. In 2004 and 05, people started missing the performance factor in a minivan that only Kia Carnival could provide, so again it topped the sales.

 

There can be found other performance effective versions of used Kia Carnival specifically manufactured for US and Europe.

 

Second Generation of KIA Carnival

Then comes the second generation when Grand Kia Carnival was introduced with not only versatile engine configurations in the range but also with short and long wheel base. However the name Grand Carnival was specific for long base. For other versions the name remains Sedona. In China it was called Kia VQ and in South Korea KIA Carnival R. The petrol and diesel engine range used the Lambda V6 and CRDI VGT-R technology in it. The transmission options of 4-speed auto, 5-speed auto, 6-speed auto and 5-speed manual are open.
