The model was a high-performing M derivative featuring a twin-scroll twin-turbo version of the 4.4-liter V8 BMW S63 engine. It is rated 408kW at 6000 rpm. The features include a 6-speed M Sports automatic transmission with aluminum paddles on the steering wheel. The first generation then came up with BMW Concept X6 ActiveHybrid. It was the first full-hybrid vehicle that could drive in purely electrical mode at low speed. This ability is missing in the Active Hybrid 7 Generation 1.

X6 ActiveHybrid has a two-mode active transmission, an advanced technology controlling the interplay of the internal combustion engine and electric motors. The vehicle operates in two modes; number 1 delivers high torque at low speeds, and number 2 is better for higher speeds. This means the car uses the available power resources efficiently.

 

 

Second Generation

At the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the second generation of X6 came into the market. It featured a new eight-speed automatic transmission along with a bit larger luggage bay. The sale of the model started at the end of 2014. It was powered by a twin-turbo 4.4 liter V-8 with a higher power engine of 50 hp (37kW) and 30 lb-ft (41 N-m) higher than the previous model, increasing up to 445 hp (332kW) at 5500 rpm and 480 lb-ft of torque at 2000 rpm.

The X6 M (F86) model was launched in Losail International Circuit Qatar. This is the quickest car of this type, and its parts are suitable for 25-50 models having the M sport trim. They include aluminum pedals, a sport steering wheel, M rims, carbon fiber trim, rear flaps, black kidney grilles, sport brakes, black side skirts, a diffuser, a splitter, and a spoiler in carbon fiber. Sales started in November 2019. The company further developed the model to G06 X6.

In comparison to its previous generation, it is 26 mm longer, 15mm wider, and 6 mm lower. The boot capacity is 580 liters and 1530 liters. G06 was launched at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.
