Manufacturers are often optimizing environmental image and repairs and maintenance of sport utility vehicles (SUV), solely on the basis of the size and because the weight of the urban SUV is much. Alternatively, there should have a compact SUV, where the benefits of SUVs, small van and sedan be united; so VW introduced Tiguan. The Volkswagen Corporation was one of the first producers who developed such a SUV for series production.
The VW Tiguan AAccepts Elements of Compact Models and SUV
Technically, the VW Tiguan shared many elements with the VW Golf. The design of the front and rear pointed stylistically towards the compact model. However, the body of the VW Tiguan was stretched up to 4.45 meters and reached a height of almost 1.70 meters. With the increased access, the higher seat position and associated to the greater ground clearance of the VW Tiguan took both typical features of the SUV. These included, in some trim levels and the underride protection and permanent all-wheel drive, which was also offered for the entry-level models with front-wheel drive as an option.
The VW Tiguan As Off-Road And Towing
While the manufacturer had the VW Tiguan designed in most of fittings for road use, it offered to the VW Tiguan Track & Field Option as offroad and towing. In this version of the VW Tiguan had special assistance systems such as Hill Descent Control and standard integrated trailer stabilization. Towing the VW Tiguan was designed for loads up to 2.5 tonnes trailer weight.
Three Petrol Engines
The VW Tiguan was offered as gasoline in three performance levels. The entry model with front or all-wheel drive equipped with a 110 kW (150 hp) unit with which the over 1.5 tonne vehicle accelerating up to 197 km / h. The average consumption was 6.7 liters with CO2 emissions of 156 g / km corresponded. In the mid-range of the VW Tiguan had an engine with 125 kW (170 hp), which brought it to just above the mark of 200 kilometers per hour. The top model came with its 147 kW (200 hp) unit at 210 km / h. The average consumption was depending on equipment at about 8.5 liters (199 g / km CO2). The petrol engines were combined with a manual six-speed gearbox or a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.
