The Volkswagen Golf Plus is a ground breaking model from Volkswagen Golf series, which was offered to the market in January 2005. The car is basically golf in 10 cm high format and removes rear seat backward 16 cm.
Spacious Interior
Overall, the passengers in the VW Golf Plus can sit higher than in the regular golf. For this purpose, the body and interior of the VW Golf Plus had to be completely redesigned. Factors: A plus of body (9.5 cm) and seat height (7.5 cm), space at the knee in the rear, in variability and functionality. This makes the car pretty spacious for rear seat passengers.
Advance Equipments
The equipment of the VW Golf Plus includes, among other things, a rear seat bench 16 centimeters in length, six airbags and active front headrests, as well as particularly fast-response taillights and LED taillights for the first time in this VW class. Depending on the position of the rear seats, the trunk volume of the VW Golf Plus can be varied. If the rear seat backrests are completely folded, one can get a good amount of storage volume.
Engine Specifications
The four-door Volkswagen Golf Plus is offered with two petrol engines and two diesel engines. The petrol engine delivers 75 hp and 115 hp; the stronger one is a direct fuel injection (FSI). As a diesel, Volkswagen is using the 1.9-liter TDI with 105 hp and the 140-hp 2.0-liter TDI.
The 115 HP Golf Plus FSI and the 140 hp diesel Golf Plus TDI are switched via six-speed transmissions. Two further FSI, a TDI and the automatic and dual clutch transmission (DSG) will follow later for the VW Golf Plus.
The next generation of the VW Golf Plus, with a light facelift and new common-rail TDI engines, was launched in February 2009.
Fuel Consumption
The new engine technology of the diesel engines reduced fuel consumption by up to 0.8 liters per 100 km. As of summer 2009, a VW Golf Plus BiFuel is also available. The minivan can thus also be operated with LPG autogas and produces 98 hp.
The consumption is an average of 9.8 liters of autogas, which corresponds approximately 6.10 euros per 100 km. This makes the VW GolfPlus BiFuel a true pickup. In December 2013 the bestseller, VW Golf Plus is still available as used cars. Its successor is the VW Golf Sportvan car based on the Golf 7.
