A little About Toyota Windom History
The Toyota Windom is a sedan of the upper middle class, built in six generations. The production took place in 1989. The body was very timeless and later the luxury version of the Windom was the basis of the Lexus ES.
Second & Third Generation
In 1992 the second generation launched in the market, whose engine power is now 188 hp and it was all-wheel drive. Further renovations can be found in the interior, which has become increasingly comfortable. The third generation debuted in 1996 with only minor changes. In terms of performance, the four-seater came with 213 hp compared to the competition in the upper midfield.
Development with Generations
In the same way as Toyota Celica was developed from the first generation to second and the evolution of the third generation, Toyota Windom was also set with the same style. By generations the size of the Toyota Windom has slightly increased in size, however the basic concept of the car is still unchanged.
Specifications
The Windom is offered with three liters unified engine in the Japanese market. By the next generation it got into the higher class. With the refined quality of every detail, Toyota Windom makes a lasting impression. With the Toyota Windom platform with front-wheel drive, a similar model Camry platform, were increased safety and driving performance of the car. In addition, Toyota Windom set a 5-speed automatic transmission. Due to these changes, improved ride quality of the model.
Windom after the Turn of the Century
In 2000, the fourth generation was introduced with the name Limousine for the first time, but postponed their launch till 2001. The bodywork was significantly modernized and was considered almost luxurious, which was particularly popular in Asia.
Engine of Other Generations
A turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 petrol engine was installed in the luxurious car, which produced 222 hp output and switched by automatic transmission. In 2006 the car received a facelift, which was officially introduced as a fifth generation. However, changes were limited. The 2012 version of the car appeared with 276 hp and called strong sixth generation, which was reworked mainly on the body.
