First introduced in early 2001, the Toyota Allion was announced as a compact car as per the Japanese vehicle regulations keeping in mind the exterior dimensions and engine displacement.


When speaking of Allion, Toyota emphasized particularly upon engine performance, engine specification, safety & protection, and convenience system. The engine came as 1.5 L 1NZ-FE I4, 1.8 L 2ZR-FE I4 (2WD/4WD) and 2.0 L 3ZR-FAE I4.
