The Nissan Micra is one of the long-term burners among the small cars and has been offered as an entry-level model of the Japanese brand for more than 30 years. The fourth generation, introduced carries the K13 label internally and is offered as a world car in a variety of markets, which in comparison to its predecessors explains a somewhat indecisive design.

 

Competitors

In 2013, the Micra K13, which was offered exclusively as a five-door car, received a facelift, including the rework of the radiator grille and headlights. For 2017 a fundamental change of model is received. Among the competitors in the small cars segment Mazda 2, Kia Rio, Toyota Yaris or Renault Clio are most prominent.

 

Interior

The importance of the design in the small car class can be seen on the Nissan Micra K13. The current fourth generation come with an emphasis on conservative design, tried to do justice to all of them. The Micra is not ugly, but it also has an interior with a little loveless furniture like a small car from the nineties. However, the interior of the car is spacious despite its small size.

 

Engine Specification

The engine range of the current Micra K13 is characterized by the near generation change and has been reduced to one engine. There is the small car exclusively with a 1.2-liter large aspirator with 80 hp. Because the competition uses more modern engines and the Micra has a start-stop system, Micra is often not only quieter and more dynamic, but also more economical.

 

 

The three-cylinder engine tends to boom and promises with its sound development more temperament than it actually offers. Also in its other characteristics the small Japanese offers at best good average.

 

Safety

The safety equipment shows that the Micra K13 is no longer among the youngest in the small car market. The passive protection against accident sequences corresponds to the standard of the class with six airbags, but the active safety of the Nissan is clearly behind.

 

It is almost impossible for the car to buy all assistance systems at an extra charge, which are now offered in some cases even a lower class - for example an automatic emergency braking function or assistance in holding or changing the lane. Moreover, six airbags and height adjustable headrests on four out of five seats are standard in the car. Air conditioner and CD radio are some other standard equipments.
