The Hino Dutro is a lightweight truck for commercial purpose. The truck is shared with Toyota Dyna and is manufactured by Hino Motors. Similar to Dyna and the twin Toyoace, Dutro is also built on the U300 platform or U400 platform for standard and wide cab respectively. It is available in many types of chassis pertaining to different purposes. The Hino Dutro is commonly known as the “300 series” outside of Japan.

The used Hino Dutro 2016 are for sale and exported to Chile, Malaysia, Australia, Colombia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and few other states in the Latin America. In Canada, as of 2008, the Dutro was marketed as the Hino 155.

hino dutroThe Dutros design of cab over engine allows better ease of driving inside a city and it also offers an opportunity for an improved maneuverability compared to  a conventional design.


As far as the exterior is concerned, there is not a very significant difference between the old models and the new ones. Fortunately, the newly installed body panels seem quite solid and the fitting of the exterior looks like a good match as well. The Hino Dutro has a chassis strong enough to withhold and endure heavy loads without any complaints.


The cabin is fitted with a wide panoramic screen and a pair of generous sideways windows realising superb external visibility. Thanks to the convenient grab handles and smart steps, it’s pretty easy to climb the truck. However, the interior is rather dull with the dashboard having a tough design.


The centre stack is placed in a smart way with every control in reach. The many storage places found are praiseworthy. Low rent plastic has been used to make the cabin while the rest of the vehicles also does not present top quality. Alternative y, the fittings are installed firmly and reflect a strong and solid look.


Hino Dutro 2016 Specshino dutro

The Hino Dutro specs go about as follows. The engine is O5E-UJ 5-litre with Diesel Particulate Active Reduction System (DPF) which controls emissions. It truck gives an output of 205hp (151kW) and 600Nm of torque from 1,400rpm. It comes with a 6 speed Aisin automatic transmission plus double overdrive. The commercial truck weights as following: GVM 8.5 tonnes, GCM 12 tonnes and payload up to 4 tonnes
