54-57The Toyota ToyoAce is one of the successful medium size truck introduced by Japanese company Toyota since September 1954. The Toyota Dyna and ToyoAce truck lines have been combined in 1985.

 

Versatility of Toyoace

Toyota Toyoace has a range of trucks from light to medium duty cab size truck with different engine and horse power. Toyoace have been introduced with different name in different markets around the world such as Toyota Dyna, Toyopet Light Truck SKB, Hino 300 Series and Daihatsu Delta and offer in different body style such as standard car and crew cab truck.

 

Since 1954, the truck line has been introduced in many generations the eight generation is latest. Let’s have a look on Toyota Toyoace generation and its innovation through every generation.

 

First Generation

The very first generation of Toyoace was introduced with the design of one ton truck of semi-cab with four cylinder inline valve mated with 1.0 liter engine with 995 cc and 30 PS / 22 kW. The first generation was originally sold as a Toyopet Light Truck then it changed to Toyoace in 1956 since the previous name was not much inspiring after a public contest.

 

The interior of first generation includes hammock style comfortable seats with better styling. The first generation sold pretty slowly because of high set of price than the three wheel truck with which the truck is competing.

 

Second Generation

The second generation of Toyoace was designed as a semi-cab over layout and initially sold as SK20. It has one liter side vavle engine that generates 33 PS 24 kW. Second generation was introduced in march 1959 which more or less same design but in October it went for a facelift and received a new engine the 1.0 liter engine that 45 PS (33 kW) P type.

 

Third Generation

The third generation comes with Y-series chassis in 1971 and had modern design along with numerous new body styles in the market. There were two types of engine provided in third generation such as 1.35 or 1.6 liter 3P type and 12 R gasoline engine. There was also a special version offered in 1977 along with small twin rear wheels especially for lower cargo surface.

 

Fourth & Fifth Generation

The fourth generation ToyoAce was built in 1979 and 1985. There was a much bigger two-liter 5R petrol engine. Meanwhile the fifth generation comes with a smaller engine with 1,626 cc 1Y petrol unit.
