Toyota Supra initially came as a sports car and grand tourer having a front engine and rear wheel drive layout to support. First introduced in 1978 the vehicle is derived from Toyota Celica. The Toyota Supra is longer and wider than the base car. In the mid year 1986 the Supra became a separate entity and started expanding its roots in a speedy way.

The First Generation

The first generation available for sale was named as Mark I, Toyota Celica Supra Mark I and Toyota Celica XX. The production started in 1978 and continued till 1981, as a fastback coupe. The engine available included the 1988 CC, 2563 CC and 2759 CC respectively that were finely balanced with car weight and size for better performance.

In that era the car was accepted with open arms but there was margin of improvement that became visible later. The transmissions available included the 5 speed W50 manual transmission, 4 speed A40D automatic and 4 speed A43D automatic that gave touch of automation and the power of control option.

The Last Generation Of Toyota Supra

The fourth generation from 1992 to 2002 brought in 2997 CC only with transmissions of 5 speed W58 and 6 speed V16x manual transmission for best power for maneuvering and ease of changing gear when one feel. The automatic transmission only came in 4 speed A340E making Toyota Supra up to the mark of the latest technology.

This generation has great up-gradation with Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS) to support the increase in power. This is done through efficient management of air compression pulses. This generation contributed a lot in road racing and had bigger injectors, steel turbines and inlets to support in the stock United Kingdom and United States.

Till today we see the last generation in used car market, performing well and quenching the thirst of sport lovers that have tight budget.
