The Toyota sienta is categorized as a small five-door minivan. The name sienta is derived from the Spanish word sieta meaning seven. It had sliding doors too and was available for sale in Kenya and Japan.

It was first released in 2003, with seating capacity for seven even though it has a small size. The styling and designing features are related to Renault Twingo, featuring avant-garde styling. As recommended by the Japanese car lifecycle policies, the car was to follow the five year lifecycle and then was stopped being produced for the Japanese domestic market around 2009. Latter it could be replaced by a new version. It was first launched as a Grade 2 "X" and "G" as initially produced models. And a package “E” was also included in the production series.

Toyota Sienta - INTERIOR AND FEATURES

The Toyota sienta has a three row seating arrangement. It is a family car with a very sophisticated interior and with a very distinctive front styling. It is a compact MPV car based on the Vitz subcompact car. It is charged with a 1.5 liter petrol VVT-i engine, it is set with a CVT transmission offering a very even and easy cruising. Electronic brake force distribution and anti-lock brake system are one of the standard safety features.

The interior is very remarkable with the seats that are adjustable and folded down in different required configurations to adapt to varying luggage sizes. There is also a level of ease of entry with the use of large sliding doors at the rear. Different sizes of compartments in cabin for storing small items are there. In Kenya the Toyota sienta is used as a public service vehicle. The people from the hilly area of Nyeri known as the Kamakwa named the car as "Shorio". It is also preferred as a means of transport by the Harrison Muchiri.

For its sliding doors, low fuel consumption and easy maintenance it is highly preferred in Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong. Toyota sienta underwent a modification in 2006, exactly three year since its manufacture. It was also released with more colors such as Metallic Blue, Gun-Metal Grey and Apple Green. The new addition to the features of the modified Toyota sienta was double electric-powered sliding doors.

THE TOYOTA SIENTA DICE

A telematics service known as the G-BOOK was offered as an optional feature on the model year 2007. It was only offered on the Japanese model. Toyota ended the production of the Sienta in 2010 due to the factors based on its age and even when it was sold in very good numbers. In 2011 it was again available in different models and a new sports model known as the sienta dice, just after the Tsunami. The features available were a power steering, power windows, dual air bags, navigation, air conditioning and anti-lock brake system.

The other notable features available on the dice are automatic air conditioning, leather-wrapped shift knob, armrest and passenger side power sliding door. Other convenient and comfortable features included were the passenger seat under tray, seat back pocket and special control panel.
