The corolla E100 belongs to the seventh generation produced by the Toyota with Corolla as nameplate. It had extended exterior dimensions such as it was heavier, visually more aerodynamic and larger than its predecessor model. Later the corolla transformed into a compact size Class similar to the size of Camry and Corona.
The standard Corolla was offered in three-door hatchback Corolla FX, five-door station wagon and a four-door sedan. Other model offered is a two-door coupé Corolla Levin.

Other than these were a four-wheel drive sedan and station wagon with a 2.0 liter diesel engine or 1.6 liter petrol. In 1992 there were two more vehicle added to the range of Toyota Corolla such as Sprinter Marino and a 4-door "pillared hardtop" Corolla Ceres. There were not many similarities to other Corollas but the engine range and the chassis of the Corolla were same and the dashboard resembled with Levin/Trueno dashboard. Later in 1993, the range of the cars was a bit modified with reconfigured rear lamps and a new grille.

These E100 offered in hatchback and sedan launched in 1991 continued to be produced till 1995 E110 model. The business wagons were offered with slightly more advanced features when compared with simpler vans. These both vehicles were produced with the purpose of commercial vehicles and lasted longer when compared with the Japanese E110 models.

In the Philippines market the Toyota Corolla is known as “Big Body”. It was offered in three body styles such as XL, XE and GLI. The XL and XE were offered with 1.3 liter carbureted (2E) engines, tachometer and digital clock, power steering and alloy wheels while the GLI was offered with a 1.6 liter fuel-injected motor. It was available in both manual and automatic transmission. It was a known car to have launched the 14-inch alloy wheels in 1992. Other features that were included later were a drivers airbag, front cup holders, rear seatbelts and anti-lock braking system.

The 1993 Toyota Corolla for the North American market was very different with new bumpers, grille and headlights. The base model was offered with a 1.6 liter 4A-FE engine while the DX, LE and wagon came were made available with the 1.8 liter 7A-FE. The LE Luxury Edition had sporty front seats. It was offered in the US with automatic transmission only while in Canada. It was available for sale with both manual and automatic transmission.

The 1993, Canadian-spec Corolla from Japan was made available for sale in Chile as the emission standards were not met by any of the Latin American models. These were offered with larger bumpers, polycarbonate headlamp and standard driver side airbag. In Venezuela it was known as “Baby Camry”.

Late in 1992, the E100 Corollas were released in New Zealand market. The models were available in 1.3L XL, 1.6L GL, 1.6L GS, and 1.8L GLX. These were offered in five-door liftback, five-door wagon, five-door hatchback and sedans too. The E100 in 1994 was known to be the first Toyota model that was produced at the Altona plant.
