Overview of Porsche Cayenne

The Porsche Cayenne - a terrain sedan (Sport Utility Vehicle - SUV) first offered in 2001 by the VW group belonging sports car manufacturer Porsche on the car market. Due to cooperation between VW and Porsche, the costs of development and production has been reduced, the Touareg from VW and the Audi Q7 based on the same platform as the Porsche Cayenne. The chassis, the electronics and components of the body are therefore almost identical in the other models. The car body of the Porsche SUV is manufactured at the VW plant in Bratislava.

The Cayenne II was introduced in 2010 on the market. The terrain sedan is available with powerful petrol, diesel and hybrid engines. While the Cayenne I is equipped with a permanent four-wheel drive, the models with petrol engines of the second generation are also available with a selectable four-wheel drive. By an eight-speed automatic transmission is carried out in all versions the transmission and the fuel consumption is reduced, inter alia by means of a regenerative braking. This is visually much more compact and has slimmed even in weight by 180 kilograms.

 

Equipments

The basic equipment of the Cayenne II includes a board computer with a navigation system, which can be used together with the rear camera as a parking aid. Upon request, the car is also supplied with an adaptive cruise control and a lane change assistant.
