Overview

The Peugeot 307 is categorized as a small family car manufactured by the French automaker Peugeot. In 2002 it received the award of the European Car of the Year. The car remained in production and was available in South American markets and China. The Peugeot 307 review state that the vehicle is a remarkable one. The hatchback models were released in 2001 in the European markets. It was also branded and sold in Asia, New Zealand Australia, and Mexico. In Brazil, it was made available with 2.0 flex engines. The 307 is a giant and weighty automobile, it’s not very responsive. In the front compartment, there is lots of space but the elongated dash makes the parking a complicated task.

Peugeot - A Tough Competitor

The Peugeot remained a tough competitor to the prevailing cars of the time such as Honda Civic and Ford Focus. Moreover, it outclassed both the cars on advancement, space, price, and handling. The 307 CC was designed with a retractable hardtop and was released in 2003. The purpose was to make 307 a winning competitor against the cabriolets coupe of the new European markets.

Well-Reputed Family Car

In 2004, Peugeot released a four-door saloon model of the 307 in China. It was manufactured by the Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Automobile.
The 307 was upgraded in 2005 so that it could compete with its opponents. The most noticeable feature of the 2005 modification was the use of the new electrical system that aided in the efficiency and practicality of the vehicle, concerning the issues related to the past reliability of the vehicle. The new upgraded 307 were not available in saloon body style, however, only one 307 was designed in saloon body style for the Latin American and Chinese markets as there was more preference for the saloons as compared with the hatchbacks.

In 2006, the Peugeot revealed a prototype diesel-electric hybrid engine for the 307 but it was not launched until the release of the hybrid model in 2010.
According to the statistics put forward by the German Automobile Club in 2009 the Peugeot was considered as a less reliable vehicle with its quality marked as below the average whereas there was a modification done to bring improvements in the vehicle and resulted in a much-preferred vehicle of 2006/2007 models.
In 2004 season of the World Rally Championship, it surpassed many of its competitors. It received many nicknames for its performance such as The Whale and The Flying Frog. Other racing competitions that the car participated include the Danish Touring Car Championship, TC2000, Stock Car Brasil, British Touring Car Championship and the World Touring Car Championship

Remarkable Designing

Given the interior and exterior designing and basic amenities, the price of the car was relatively higher. The cabin of 307 is not a comfortable one when compared with the contemporary rival VW Golf, however, it was available with a wide variety of engines and with a set of well-maintained safety features
The 308 Peugeot took place of the 307 Peugeot in 2007 and after a remarkable modification in 2011 was again outclassed by the New Peugeot 308 in 2014.
