Nissan Silvia

Nissan Silvia is the sports car group of the enterprise. The name implies to all models that are launched in the category but with different model number plates.  The vehicles that come under the category are: the original Silvia, S10, S110, Gazelle, 240RS and S12. All models have different specifications according to customer requirements.


Original Silvia Specifications

The original Silvia was launched in the market around 1964. The vehicle had engine specifications as: 1.6 liters, 96 horse powers, manual transmission of about four speed, 3984 mm of length, 1508 mm of width and 1275 mm of height. The model had exports of about 49 cars outside Japan. The uniqueness and specialized method of manufacturing of units could not support production for long. Therefore vehicle was withdrawn from market and production got stopped in 1968.

Other Models

After the withdrawal of original Silvia the other models that came into market with better modification were: S10, S12, S110, 240 Rs and Gazelle. The S10 was also NISSAN SILVIAknown as the datsun 200 SX and datsun 180 SX. The production of the vehicle started off in 1975 and until 1979. The model had: two doors, 1.8 liters engine, 3 seed automatic transmission, manual transmission of five speed and 2340 mm of wheelbase. The s10 was more of a traditional product with simplest features and cheap cost for greater affordability. S10 got replaced by s100 which was known as two door coupe and sakura. It remained in production from the year 1979 to the year 1983. The sakura had array of engine options: 1.8, 2.0, 2.2 to 2.4 liters. The transmission was automatic three speed and manually at five speed.  The long wheel base of about 2400 mm was an attractive feature of the vehicle for good handling over pathways.


S12 Also Known As Mark

The S12 model came into market in 1983 and its manufacturing continued until 1988. In different markets it was also known as the Nissan 180 or 200 SX. The S12 had three doors for easy entry and exit of driver and passengers. It supported 1.8, 2.0 and 3.0 liter engines turbo charged along with four speeds automatic and five speed manual transmissions. The models were preferred greatly by the valued customers for greater economy and feasible average mileage per gallon; therefore they remained in the market with little revisions and marketed as mark one and two.
