The First Generations of the Nissan Patrol
The Nissan Patrol was first introduced after the World War II when the all-terrain vehicles were desperately needed in Japan mostly for fire departments, military as well as police. Then Nissan decided to launch a vehicle to fill the need and named it Nissan Patrol. Although the lucrative government contract goes to Mitsubishi, Nissan is building a specific off-road vehicle for the civilian market.
In 1951 the Nissan Patrol 4W60 rolled off the belt, equipped with a 3.7-liter six-cylinder gasoline engine with 75 hp. The design is reminiscent of the much smaller Willys Jeep. Optical recognition features include details like the split front windows and the Nissan logo in the radiator grille. For the first time the off-road vehicle now carries the official name Nissan Patrol.
Successful Facelift Specifications
When model change on the Nissan Patrol 4W61 in August 1955, it provides one optically determined little difference to its predecessor. Only a little more chrome on the body and a few modifications to the radiator grille and bonnet as well as the now one-piece windshield are external features of the new model. In addition, the Nissan Patrol now receives a 3.7-liter engine with 92 hp. A little later this drive is replaced by a four-liter engine with 105 hp. It follows the model 4W65, which also optically hardly different from the first car. This series is built until 1959 and discontinued. Then the Nissan Patrol 4W66 follows, equipped with a 125-horsepower gasoline engine.
The Nissan Patrol since 2010
The seventh generation of Nissan Patrol (Y62) breaks with tradition. The Nissan Patrol is no longer the classic off-road vehicle of the past. As luxury SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) gets the car a completely new platform, a self-supporting body, independent suspension and permanent all-wheel drive with two drive modes sand, road, snow and rock. These technical data can be summarized as follows: eight-cylinder gasoline engine V-type which is four-wheel drive, 5,552 cc displacement, 294 kW (400 hp) with the Maximum torque 560 Nm at 4,000 rpm and can acceleration from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in 7 seconds with the top speed of 200 km / h.
Nissan Patrol Interior/Exterior
The SUV is very stylish and look iconic when it comes to the exterior looks while interior of the vehicle is very comfortable and soft.
Nissan Patrol Fuel Consumption
The official average fuel consumption of Nissan Patrol is 14.5L/100km versus the diesel version of Patrol consumes 11.8L/100km.
