It is said that Nissan and Toyota has always had cut throat competition. Nissan Elgrand and Toyota Vellfire are Multi-purpose vehicles that have their own advantages. The Elgrand is older in between the two as it was produced 5 years before Vellfire in the year 1997. Even initial models of both vehicles have similarity in appearance, though the engine displacement varied in different generations.
Look
The Nissan Elgrand came in both 3 and 4 door while the Toyota Vellfire came in 4 or 5 door option. So even though there might be a similarity from distance but the car is pretty identifiable. The colors available in both the cars are no different as the white, silver and black are general stocks while the red, blue, green and beige are limited produced stock. The grille in the front is linear in Elgrand while the Vellfire rectangular box grille. In the Nissan the headlights is divided into 4 parts with 2 parts being broader in comparison to smaller lower 2. The Toyota has angular lights which is much broad and without any division on exterior. The fog lights are also stylish enough in Elgrand with size much broader and sharp as compare to small circular one of Vellfire.
Variations
There were 3 model developments in Nissan Elgrand including E50, E51 and E52 respectively. The E50 that is the first generation that came in variations of V, VG, X, XL, Highway Star, Rider and S Edition. In coming years the variations were refined with features made technology filled. The Vellfire is the sporty form of Toyota Alphard so features were loaded accordingly within the general features. The special trims were introduced in its third generation that continues till today. The Royal Lounge and Golden eye were the name given to them and they came in 2.5L / 3.5 L and 3.5L/ Hybrid respectively.
Safety and Specs
Both cars are considered to be safe option to drive. Toyota has edge in terms of scoring 5 star from an acclaimed institution. Auto braking, high beam assists and adaptive cruise control are offered in advance level by Toyota Vellfire. It has radar behind the front grille with constant speed and distance best maintained by it. The Nissan Elgrand has the usual safety option but it even brings antibacterial leather wrapped steering wheel and knobs.
